Encinal and Alameda High Schools placed in the top 5% nationally of all public
high schools, in
Newsweek's annual rankings that were published this week. The ranking takes
into account the number of AP tests taken, and the number of students
graduating.
In spite of continued cutbacks in funding, Alameda's public schools remain
excellent – but this year's proposed $4.5m cuts place them under threat to
an extent we have not seen before. It's vital to pass Measure H on June 3rd,
to keep our schools excellent.
