April 23rd, 2008

Ruby Bridges PTA is hosting a special information night for the Alameda community, Tuesday, April 29th, 6:30–8pm, in the multi-purpose room at Ruby Bridges School, 351 Jack London Ave.

  • Why is the Alameda Unified School District facing more than $4.5 million in cuts?

  • What will be cut from our schools?

  • Why does this matter to people who don't have kids in Alameda's public schools?

  • What is the June 3 parcel tax measure, and how does it fit into the picture?

  • How does this affect homeowners? How does it affect renters?

Get the answers to these questions and more at a special information night being hosted by the Ruby Bridges PTA.

Speakers include:

  • Bill Schaff, President, Alameda Board of Education

  • Brooke Briggance, Executive Director of the Alameda Education Foundation

  • Jerry Nussbaum, Managing Broker and Owner of Kane & Associates Realtors, will also share his perspective on the link between local schools and Alameda real estate prices.
